A Sunday morning. Woke up early and started revising list of things to do for the day. Managed to bring down them to two: getting my camera lens fixed and accompanying my friend to a lunch invitation. I usually try to stay indoors on Sundays. I just don´t see the fun in hanging out with the rest of the world given that everybody is out on the road on weekends.

Half way through morning I manged to pull my self out of bed and tried to get sth to eat. There were very big pancakes and coffee. While trying to finish the first one I am thinking, ´these are more like Ambashas not pancakes´. I took my coffee to the Tv and caught CSI Miami in one of the channels. It has been a while  since I watched the series. I don´t know what happened to the people.  It sounded like a fake Boston Legal, I guess some lame attempt to make it sound funny. Thank you but NO, THANK YOU !

I went back ,put on 80´s magic. Pulled a pillow over my face and just spent the whole morning listening music. No lunch , no camera fixing. Ideally would get up again find firfir with berebere waiting on the lunch table but as Eminem would say…Snap!

´Snap , back to reality

Here goes gravity…Snap! ´

Anyways, it was one of the best Sunday mornings.

There are good people in this world and this post is about them.

I mean people whom you would think about years after you met them, sit back , put half smile on your face and say ´´ This world is not a bad place after all !´´

These are people who have little but share it without a blink. These are people who, five minutes after you met them, would go out of their way to get you want you want. These are people who, right after your first acquaintances, would say ´let us know if there is anything , we are family now!´. These are people who would make you see the best out of the worst instances of your life.  And you know they would do that with no strings attached.

They don’t even have to give you anything. Their genuine offer is enough to make you feel better about this world.

I have met them in the least expected places. May be one in three or four years. But, enough to last me a life time. When I get too cynical ,at times, I think about them and say ´This world can not be the worst place after all!´

To all the good people I’ve met.

Venzuelan President Hugo Chavez is a controversial person. He is one of  the few remaining leaders of  the world who actually have the luxury of saying openly what´s on their mind. Of course, he has good resources to back him up as well. Venzuela had 80 billion barrels  of conventional oil reserves as of 2007, the largest oil reserves of any country in South America. In 2006, it had net oil exports of 2.2 million barrels per day  the sixth-largest in the world and the largest in the Western Hemisphere.

A few days ago Chavez was back in the news for threatning the West to stoping oil sells if they implement tough new legislation against illegal immigrants. Aljazeera quoted Chavez as saying  that should European nations begin jailing illegal immigrants from Latin American nations “then we’re going to make our own list of companies from that country that have investments in Venezuela.

The new European guidlines establishes a new Guantanamo for ´illegal´ migrants wwhere they can be held in detention centres for up to 18 months before being expelled. Although Venzuela doesn´t have many immigrants in Europe,Chavez was speaking on behalf of all latino immigrants.

Well I guess , the West can not have its cake and eat it any more.

Hasta la Victoria!
