I am not sure how many out there have ever heared of the cow painting festival. It´s an annual event featuring painted sculptures of cows in public places. It originated in the United States and aims at collecting money for charity out of auctioning the sculptures. Since it started in 1999 it has spread in different cities in the world as an annual event. This year  San Jose hosted the cow parade. There were more than 120 painted cows diplayed through out the city.  The works show great creativity of the artists. They go beyond being a simple art work and pass  perspectives on contemporary society and culture. Of those I have seen the stripper cow was the one that stood out for me.
