Ladies and Gentlemen , change has come, the people have spoken!

I followed this historical election here from the Rockefeller plaza with thousands of people gathered where NBC was doing live transmission. I was right next to what can be called a typical Obama audience. There was the Asian couple, Muslim college girls with hijabs pinned with “Muslims for Obama” pin, blacks and whites, greens and yellows. Its just amazing the diversity this election is able to bring together.

The whole thing was like a dream. It was like watching your favourite team playing a final game. The suspense , the anxiety , the hopes and fears everything was there as the votes were being announced. When the final deciding votes were broadcasted all I could hear was everybody around me saying “Wow”…”OMG”… “I can’t believe he made it !” over and over again. People started to jump on each other ,hugging and kissing regardless of colour or race. It was the most emotional moment. Then, picture thousands of people saying with one voice ” Yes , We can !”. I am more than thrilled to be part of this history. The theme song by NBC right after the projections was Steve Wonder’s “Singed Sealed Delivered , I am yours”

Its amazing how this election was  international. I heared there was a big celebration in Addis. In Keneya , the president has called tomorrow to be a public holyday.

Congrats to all who put their efforts to make this come true and my hats off to the Obama Campaign team.
